Coming to terms... When changing jobs or careers we all have something very unique to offer...
At some point in each of our lives we’re struck with the realization that there must be something more than what we’ve been experiencing. This is when questions such as ‘What is my life’s purpose? Why am I here? How do I find fulfillment in my work. Unfortunately, so many of us get trapped in the routine of managing our busy lives that we don’t take time out to search for answers, to reflect on who we are and where we’ve been, to discover our true gifts and desires, all of which could bring tremendous fulfillment and meaning to our lives. The tendency is to look outside ourselves for answers. We help you plan your journey and navigate a purposeful course, allowing you to find creative ways to integrate your personal resources, strengths and gifts with your passions.
Each of us carries an invisible briefcase that contains all of our talents and skills since we first started learning. Anytime we begin a new job we bring our invisible briefcase with us and unpack what we need in order to do the job well. As we grow into the new job we learn new skills and find different applications for our talents. When we leave the employer, we pack up our briefcase. We repack all our original skills and talents as well as anything new we’ve learned. When we walk out the door we have a very unique package. This is what we have to show the world, the tangible resume so to speak, and it’s unlike anyone else’s. Many times when you make a career change it’s simply a matter of reorganizing the contents of your briefcase so you’re presenting yourself in a different light. Or you may find that additional training or education is necessary to update your skills. Or perhaps you’ve over packed and it’s time to clean the clutter.
